Land Surveys
Land Surveying has become a generic term which covers the vast amount of geospatial data that can be gathered in the field, and transferred to digital media or printed to paper. Engineering Surveying encompasses the complete process from initial survey, production of co-ordinated data, setting out of roads, drainage and structures through to as-built surveys and conveyance plans. A Land Survey can be many things from a simple boundary plan to a highly detailed record of natural and man-made features.
A few minutes taken to consider the exact purpose for the survey can save time and money. There is no point having a fully detailed topographic survey at a large scale if you only intend to use it for landscaping or garden design. Alternatively you could be disappointed if you try to save money by asking for a 1:1250 scale OS plan with a few levels added when your ultimate aim is to apply for planning permission followed by full design drawings for a new residential development.
The different types of Land Survey that we provide are listed below with a brief description. Once you have decided which one suits your purpose best click on the link for more information.

Commonly used for design and planning of construction works but can be used for other purposes where a large amount of detail is required.
Boundary Survey
Can be helpful in boundary disputes or to determine the total area of a plot of land.
Tree Survey
Basic plan showing tree and shrub positions for landscape design or conservation.
As-built Survey
An accurate record of a completed development, often used for section 38 and section 104 agreements for road and sewer adoption.
Control Survey
Positioning of accurate control points for survey and setting out work.
Volume Analysis
Calculation of stock pile volumes and cut and fill areas.
Flood Risk Assessment
Contoured plans and sections of river banks and surrounding areas used to aid in the design of flood prevention measures.
